about

In honor of RAN’s 25th anniversary, Critical Beats for the Climate and Govinda are teaming up with musicians from the Xavante Indigenous tribe of Brazil to create an extraordinary piece of music.

The Xavante, an Indigenous tribe resisting soy expansion onto their territories and a RAN and Protect-an-Acre grant recipient, have recently shared their traditional music with Critical Beats, who works to preserve the Amazon by connecting Indigenous artists with famous music producers from around the world. The result: a historical, cross-cultural collaboration that combines the ancient ceremonial sounds of the Xavante with the modern electronic virtuosity of Govinda.

This music is truly one of a kind, intended to connect listeners to the hearts and prayers of the Xavante and inspire them to join in the struggle to support Indigenous rights and their territories.

Govinda will officially unveil the piece during a live performance at RAN’s anniversary celebration in Los Angeles on May 25th. In the meantime, Critical Beats and Govinda are offering you an exclusive opportunity to download the music for a minimum $1 donation with 100% of the proceeds going to RAN.
